Sylkk appears to be a hybrid monster containing both human and plant characteristics as well as canine. He appears to "hibernate" during the winter months in a kind of cocoon attached to a large tree in Cthulhu Gardens, U.S.A. It has been suggested that there are at least two other pods amongst the tree's roots, each containing a corpse: a dog, and a man believed to be Cthulhu Gardens' missing Sheriff, Sebastian Greene. The tree borders the perimeter of the shadowy Sarnath Botanics, where research involving plant-animal hybrids is rumored to occur.
