The Gill Man first appeared in the 1954 film classic, Creature from the Black Lagoon.

The Gill Man, a fish-human hybrid, is discovered during a paleontology expedition along the Amazon River and the fabled Black Lagoon.

After the creature kills their guides, the scientists are able to capture the creature, but it escapes and kidnaps the female on the boat. The others must then devise a plan to rescue her from its lair.
